History

RJR Promotions has been running since 2004. Started up by Roy Harris (r.i.p still missing you xxx), who had spent many a year selling from his own boot, decided to run the whole event. All the family were roped in to help. We have since continued to run the events, his wife Babs, sons Jonny, Carl & Ryan, the grandchildren, the girfriends, friends of the family have all helped out over the years. Its a friendly team. I hope you’ll agree.

If you are thinking of doing your first boot-sale, heres a few tips…

• One Mans junk is another’s treasure. It amazing what sells.
• However, broken chipped dirty or worn out does not sell. So dont expect miracles.
• Once you have decided to sell at a bootsale, think of your unwanted items as stock.
• Do all you can to display it well, iron clothes, clean crockery, keep boxes, every little helps to sell the items.
• If you are going to use a table, pack it last of all so its easy to reach.
• You will need change, carrier bags & suitable clothing for standing outdoors.
• Electrical items must be safe & fitted with a shielded plug.
• Always remember, haggling over the price is all part of the fun.
• Don’t be too generous with your discounts too early – remember you want to make some money whilst clearing clutter!

Terms:

• We believe in fair play for our sellers & buyers alike.
• DO NOT look into the sellers boots.
• No item is for sale until its out of the car.
• Our car boots start at the time stated. Please do not arrive earlier.
• Take your litter home with you. The entrance fee pays for you to do a stall, not to retain us as your cleaners.
• Selling tariff is payable on entrance to pitch.
• Public parking is only charged when costs require so.
